ConnectAbility

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

ConnectAbility Australia was founded in 1992 by a group of community members and families to meet the needs of people with significant disabilities. ConnectAbility outgrew their existing premises in Hamilton and required a larger tenancy to accommodate their expanding operations, servicing special needs people and their Carers.

The new premises are located at Warabrook, Newcastle

The design brief required numerous sections of the fit out to include an Art room, Sensory Room, IT room, and Commercial kitchen. A kiln room was also required to be built in the landscaped outdoor area for the “Participants” Ceramic works.

SCOPE OF WORKS:

• Demolition to existing offices within warehouse

• Construction of structural steel mezzanine floor within existing warehouse 650m2

• Special purpose office fit out including impact resistant walls, suspended ceilings throughout

• Complete Services infrastructure upgrade

• Commercial Kitchen

• 3 Disabled toilets

• Resilient flooring

• Automatic door entry points

“NOI kept the build on track and on budget as much as possible despite our continuous requests for variations. Their ability to be flexible and work with the trades to meet our deadlines and changes was exemplary. They communicated with us on a daily basis and stayed on site so that we understood what processes were happening and any challenges that could occur.”

“We cannot speak highly enough of Newcastle Office Interiors skills and experience in the field and would recommend NOI for any project on this basis.”
